HARRISBURG, PA—Kathy Speaker MacNett, a managing member of the Harrisburg law firm SkarlatosZonarich LLC, will participate in a seminar on independent contractors v. employees for business owners, human resource and risk managers titled IRS Form 1099 Reporting: What You Need To Know on October 25, 2013 at the Park Inn Harrisburg West in Mechanicsburg, PA. The seminar will take a multi-disciplinary look at the issue and also includes a plaintiff’s counsel, an accountant and an income tax preparer.
“Properly classifying workers as independent contractors or employees is often misunderstood, and often contributes to avoidable violations of labor/employment laws,” said MacNett.
The presentation is part of a series of seminars sponsored by Lorman Educational Services.
MacNett’s practice focuses on representing and defending business in a variety of labor/employment issues. She is a graduate of Immaculata University, holds Master’s Degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and St. Francis of Loretto University, and a law degree from Dickinson School of Law, now part of Penn State.
SkarlatosZonarich LLC is recognized on the Central PA Magazine 2011 Hot List for “Best Professional Services.”
